An animated GIF is an image file that contains a number of images that are displayed to make an animation. This type of image is hugely popular for banner and sidebar banner advertisements in websites and blogs. It’s also a very popular format when it comes to memes and humor.
You may have always wondered how they create an animated image, because your built-in image editing software, Paint, doesn’t really do that. To create your own animated gif, we’ve dug out this nice little web application that lets you make your animated gif in seconds.
The application we’re gonna walk you through is called Make A Gif.
MakeaGif
Makeagif makes it easy for you to create an animated gif in three steps. The steps are easy enough to follow. You have to upload your photos first, set the order, and create your first animated gif.
First, create the photos that should be displayed by rotation. You can create the images using Paint, Photoshop or whatever image-editing software you like. When you’re ready, go to make a gif and start following the tutorial.
In the first step, you have to click the big green add pictures button and select the photos that you want to add to the animated gif. Upon selection, the photos will begin uploading immediately. As soon as the uploading is complete, the site will extend to its second step.
This step is just for reordering. As soon as you’re done reordering, click continue to proceed to the third step.
In this step, you have to configure your animated gif. In other words, you have to actually set the animation of your gif. Animation speed sets the delay between image rotations. Resize your images, simply crops your image to multiple preset sizes. Choosing a category is optional, because once you create a gif, it is saved in the library of the make a gif website.
Now, click the create button and you’re done!
Improving Your Gif
If you want better quality and control over the animated gifs that you create, the site recommends that you register yourself. It is convenient for you to register, as the site supports connecting through Facebook and authenticating with Twitter.
